We broke with tradition on this recipe using fruit concentrate as the sweetener. The saskatoon flavour still dominates but other fruity notes are there playing backup - the result is a chorus of flavours that is just a little less sweet. Every bit as versatile as our traditional syrup.

Chokecherry syrup is another traditional prairie flavour that is worth preserving. We're not sure who first tried making chokecherries into syrup but the result is simply fantastic. Wonderful colour and intense wild cherry flavour. Great on pancakes, crepes, waffles, French toast, yogurt, and ice cream. Just like our traditional sakatoon syrup, this recipe uses sugar as the sweetener.
