A jam is a product sweetened with sugar and boiled to
produce a thick product which will not run out of the
jar when inverted. A traditional approach to fruit based

| Jam Type
Spread - Similar to above. Uses sugar, but with
less boiling time and less thickeners to produce a spread
from which will pour or spoon from a jar. |
| Spread
- Uses fruit and fruit juice concentrate. No sugar added.
These products will pour or spoon from a jar. |
| Choice
of Sweeteners - The choice of sweeteners added to
the product are one method by which products can be
differentiated from competition. Riverbend Plantation
manufactures both products sweetened with sugar, and
products sweetened with fruit concentrates. |
| Products
sweetened with Sugar - These products are all lightly
sweetened with sugar to give that old fashioned taste
that so many people associate with jams. |
| Products
sweetened with fruit juice concentrate - These products
only contain natural fruit sugar as the sweetener and
are particularly good for people who are trying to avoid
foods sweetened with sugar. This method of sweetening
also allows the true fruit flavours to be tasted creating
a 'fresh fruit' taste. |
